Brake Rotor Polishing
Exclusively from Jason's Auto Spa!

Many aftermarket brake rotors that are either drilled, slotted, or both, tend to rust over a short period of time after being introduced to moisture. The brake pad cleans up the contact surface on the rotor, but the inner-slots and holes will remain rusty as the brake pad does not contact them. This leaves a dull brown look to your high performance rotors and really takes away from how beautiful your wheels are. This service can be performed on your car or is an excellent idea after purchasing new rotors before installing them.

The only way to remedy this is to painstakingly polish each individual hole and slot one-by-one and protect them with a high-temperature clear coat. Follow the example below:

Before
Aftermarket brake rotors on a C5 Corvette

After polishing each hole and slot with light and heavy grit sandpaper (Polishing & Paint Prep)

Two coats of high temperature clear coat are applied into each drilled hole and slot with a fine brush. The rotor is sanded down to ensure the clear coat is only in the drilled and slotted grooves and not on the pad-contacting part of the rotor.
