Many aftermarket brake rotors
that are either drilled, slotted, or both, tend to rust over a
short period of time after being introduced to moisture. The
brake pad cleans up the contact surface on the rotor, but the
inner-slots and holes will remain rusty as the brake pad does
not contact them. This leaves a dull brown look to your high
performance rotors and really takes away from how beautiful your
wheels are. This service can be performed on your car or is an
excellent idea after purchasing new rotors before installing
them.
The only way to remedy this is to painstakingly polish each
individual hole and slot one-by-one and protect them with a
high-temperature clear coat. Follow the example below:
